The title CISSP, short for Certified Information Systems Security Professional, is appearing more and more frequently in job descriptions for information security professionals. Whether it concerns salaried positions or roles via secondment, a CISSP certificate is in many cases a strong advantage or even a requirement. This intensive information security training course is the ideal preparation for the internationally recognised CISSP certification. The course covers the eight domains of the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK):

Target Audience:
This program is highly suitable for security officers, security managers, security consultants, network and system administrators and IT architects with five or more years of work experience in information security (in at least two CISSP CBK domains). With a minimum of a higher vocational education (HBO) diploma or a certification from the (ISC)² Credential List, four years of relevant work experience is sufficient.
If you have less experience, you can become an Associate of (ISC)² after passing the CISSP exam. You then have six years to build up the required work experience. More information can be found on the (ISC)² website.
Prequisites:
The CISSP preparation training is designed for professionals who already have a solid foundation in information security. To obtain the official CISSP certification, you must pass the exam and typically have at least five years of cumulative, full-time work experience in at least two of the eight CISSP domains.
If you hold a four-year degree (higher professional/university level) (or a regional equivalent) or a relevant certification from the (ISC)² approved credential list, you may be eligible for a one-year experience waiver. In that case, four years of work experience is sufficient.
If you do not yet meet the experience requirement, you can apply for the Associate of (ISC)² status after passing the CISSP exam. This demonstrates you have the required exam-level knowledge while you continue to build the necessary professional experience.
Please note: changes to the CISSP waiver list have been announced effective 1 April 2026 (relevant if you plan to use a credential-based waiver).
