Day 1
Data Governance
- Introduction to data management using the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK2), the best-known framework in this field
- What is the difference between data governance and data management?
- How do you organize data management within an existing organization?
Maturity and Skill Development
- How do you determine the data management maturity of your organization? What options are available to grow in maturity?
- What skills are required throughout the data management life cycle?
Day 2
Data Usage
- It is difficult to judge a data model as good or bad without knowing its purpose. A model can only be assessed in the context of its objective.
- When do you use Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence, and when do you opt for data integration? When do you choose Data Science?
- Based on assignments, we determine which solution best meets the needs of your stakeholders.
- What are the consequences for your data architecture? What options are available, and what are the characteristics of these solutions?
- This module helps you determine which solution to use and when, to achieve the best results.
Data Management in Practice
- How do you ensure that the right data reaches the right target group at the right time?
- How do you deal with data quality, data privacy and security?
- How do you handle metadata and determine master data? Based on practical examples, you learn how to reduce issues in the data management process.

- Understand the data lifecycle and the roles, responsibilities and skills involved;
- Make informed choices between data warehouse, business intelligence, data integration and data science solutions;
- Translate stakeholder needs into appropriate data usage, architecture and solutions;
- Address data quality, data privacy, security and metadata management in practice;
- Explain the role of master data and metadata within a data management landscape;
- Prepare effectively for the CDMP certification exam (Data Management Fundamentals – DAMA International).
